Daniel Clarke is wheeled toward an ambulance to be taken to Chumphon Khet Udomsakdi Hospital after the Briton was found lying near the railway tracks in Muang district of Chumphon on Saturday. He had injuries to his head and shin when he was found, and rescuers took him to Chumphon Khet Udomsakdi Hospital for treatment. Dr Sanchai Nakaphan, a physician at the hospital, said the Briton had undergone an operation and an x-ray indicated no damage to the brain. A State Railway of Thailand official on board the Thon Buri-Lang Suan train, whose name was not disclosed, said he noticed a man lying near the tracks and called police in Chumphon. He speculated that the Briton might have been on board the Bangkok-Nakhon Si Thammarat train, which was running ahead of his train.
